Led by Jessica Gualano, David Bowler Wines
Several years back (12-15 years ago), Spanish wines were wildly popular, especially the Garnaxtas and Tempranillos made by coops. Spain became associated with cheap and cheerful value wines. Meanwhile, intrepid young Spaniards were exploring forgotten wine regions, discovering old vineyards and resurrecting local varieties. We are the fortunate beneficiaries of their efforts and for the curiosity and energy of some adventuresome importers who pushed beyond Rioja and Ribera del Duero to bring these wines to us. Join Jess who takes us for a journey beyond Rioja, with an emphasis on the Canary Islands.
