Virtual Wine Tasting Process
For those of you new to the tastings, we open two bottles together– available for purchase at Windham Wines– and talk with the winemaker or winery owner about terroir, grapes, farming practices and wine.
Come into the shop, buy the wines, leave us your email so that we can send the Zoom link. For the tasting, have your wines ready, prepare some snacks, and relax into the evening with some delicious conversation.
Email us your email address so that we can send you the link to participate.

A Mid-Summer Virtual Tasting

Bethel Heights is one of the pioneering wineries that placed the Willamette Valley on the map of the world’s respected wine regions. In 1977, twin brothers Ted and Terry Casteel, with their wives, Pat Dudley and Marilyn Webb, along with Pat’s sister, Barbara Dudley, bought 75 acres northwest of Salem. 14 acres were newly planted with vines, to which they added 36 more acres. They produced their first commercial vintage in 1984.
From its roots, Bethel Heights has been a family-centric enterprise. Ted managed the vineyards; Terry served as winemaker; Marilyn and Pat shared marketing and operations management. Now their respective batons have been passed to the next generation of Casteel-Dudleys.
We will benefit from Pat’s 35 years of experience as she guides us tasting the Bethel Heights Pinot Blanc and their Estate Pinot Noir. Here is a link to winemaker Ben Casteel (son of Terry and Marilyn) as he relates the philosophy of Bethel Height’s approach to the Estate Pinot Noir. Email us to reserve your spot and receive the Zoom link to the tasting. You can purchase the tasting wines from us in advance.
