United States
The growing regions of the United States are as diverse as their people. There is a winery located in every state of the country.
The leading wine-producing regions in the U.S. include California, New York State, Washington, Oregon, Virginia and Texas.
The size of the United States lends itself to a wide diversity in the grape varietals that grow around the country. Upper New York state's climate is very similar to that of Germany and has found success in growing Riesling. The cool growing climate of Oregon's Willamette Valley is on the same longitude as Burgundy and is producing fantastic Pinot Noir. The warmth of the Napa Valley is perfectly suited for Cabernet and Merlot.
