The Wine Gallery is the site for a variety of special events, which include classes and tastings.

The Wine Gallery is also the ideal location for a meeting, social gathering or fundraiser. In addition, live music can be heard every Wednesday and other, selected evenings.

We have a beer-wine-cheese pairing dinner with Dogfish Head Brewery coming up on May 29th. Sam Calagione, founder of Dogfish Head, is writing a book called She Said Wine, He Said Beer that pairs foods with wines and beers. Following this kind of approach, we are pairing each of 4 courses with wine and beer, with those participating determining which makes the better fit. In addition, we'll include an American Artisanal Cheese (so far, all are Vermont cheeses) with each course and we'll be joined by Jeff Roberts, author of Atlas of Artisanal American Cheeses who will give us more color about each of the cheeses. Jeff is particularly interested in events like these and has done them with Rogue in Oregon and Victory in Pennsylvania because his next book is on American craft beers. It will be a fun and interesting event, with Allen talking beer, Jeff talking cheese and I'll be explaining the wine pairings. The cost of the event is $65, plus gratuity. Reservations are absolutely necessary and there is a vegetarian option. Please call 246-6400 to reserve with a deposit.

On June 7th, as part of the Strolling of the Heifers activities, we are featuring a tasting of Vermont cheeses with Vermont wines. On hand will be Ellen Ogden, author of the Vermont Cheese Book. She will be joined by Gail and Ken Albert of Shelburne Vineyards whose wines we'll be pairing with different cheeses. Gail and Ken make wine just south of Burlington. It is all made from grapes and is organically farmed. It should be a delicious event with a cost of $25 and two seatings, one at 4:00 and the other at 7:00. Please call 246-6400 to reserve with a deposit.
