Marty & Frank

StaffMarty and Frank are co-owners of Windham Wines and The Wine Gallery. They have studied with Karen MacNeil, author of The Wine Bible, and have taken other wine classes at the Culinary Institute of America, including The Business of Wine. Marty has developed a detailed knowledge of wine and beer over the last 30 years. Frank's passion for beer has translated into a fantastic selection of artisanal beers in both the retail store and the Wine Gallery.

From 1997 to 2005, Marty was Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity in Wayne County, Ohio. She taught International Relations in college from 1988 to 1997, which included three years at Marlboro.

Frank's background includes extensive management experience in the government and non-profit sectors. He has worked at the U.S. Department of Labor, and the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C. While at the Labor Department, Frank had a variety of responsibilities, including the management of a training office in the equal employment opportunity compliance division.

Winthrop

Winthrop is the manager of both Windham Wines and The Wine Gallery. He has fifteen years of hands-on experience in the hospitality industry, including an extensive history of purchasing and cellar management at a wide range of properties.

Before starting his association with the business last December, Winthrop worked for the consulting firm Oates and Bredfeldt where his duties included designing wine lists for clients. Winthrop has also worked as dining room manager and innkeeper at The Three Mountain Inn in Jamaica, Vermont, and as beverage director at The Copper Beach Inn in Essex, Connecticut. In addition, he served as floor manager for the Carolina Club in Chapel Hill.
